How to Apply

Grants, Scholarships, Loans. Grants and scholarships do not require repayment. Loans must be repaid in full or in part with interest. Requirements vary according to the type of loan. Total amounts vary depending upon financial need and/or academic ability. Some are fixed amounts with established criteria. Depends upon the program. Some require the applicant to meet certain academic requirements. Others are based upon financial need. Specific application forms are listed below.
Institutional Programs
Presidential Scholarship Recipients receive $1500 annually for a maximum of two years of consecutive enrollment. Renewable provided student maintains GPA stipulated in the college catalog. Requires 25 or above on ACT. PCCUA scholarship application required. Available from high school counselor, Financial Aid Office, or Administrative Offices at PCCUA.
Academic Scholarship Recipients receive full tuition for a maximum of four consecutive semesters. Renewable provided student maintains GPA stipulated in the college catalog. Requires 21 or above on ACT and an overall high school grade point average of 3.0. PCCUA scholarship application required. Available from high school counselor or Financial Aid Office at PCCUA.
Achievement Award Recipients receive full tuition for a maximum of four consecutive semesters. Renewable provided student maintains GPA stipulated in the college catalog. Require 21 or above on ACT or a 3.0 grade average in applicant's technical or occupational curriculum. PCCUA scholarship application required. Available from high school counselor or Financial Aid Office at PCCUA.
Incentive Awards 9-14 sems. hrs.- 75% of tuition
Student must pay first then will be reimbursed if they have a 2.75 grade point average for semester.
3.0 grade point average in high school or 21 on ACT. Complete courses at PCCUA with 2.75 grade point average. PCCUA scholarship application required. Available from high school counselor or Financial Aid Office at PCCUA.
Foundation/Community Scholarships Amounts may differ. See college catalog. Requirement may differ. See college catalog. PCCUA scholarship application required. Available from high school counselor or Financial Aid Office at PCCUA.
Performing Arts Scholarships Scholarship amounts vary depending on skill and/or talent. Criteria for these scholarships are set by the specific departments. Contact the Music Department, or the Speech Department. PCCUA scholarship application may be required. Contact the Financial Aid Office at PCCUA.
Federal Programs  
Federal Pell Grant •  minimum $200
•  maximum not to exceed 1/2 the cost of attending
•  based on computer analysis of financial need
•  you will receive the amount for which you qualify
•  undergraduate student enrolled at least half-time and maintaining satisfactory progress as defined by the institution FAFSA or application for federal assistance. FAFSA is recommended. Applications available from high school counselors or the Financial Aid Office at PCCUA.
Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (SEOG) •  minimum $200
•  student must show exceptional financial need
•  limited funding available each year
•  full-time or part-time under-graduate students
•  based on financial need

Federal Work Study •  amount varies depending upon qualification of federal financial aid •  based on financial need
•  undergraduate students
•  up to 20 hours per week
FAFSA. Applications available from high school counselors or the Financial Aid Office at PCCUA.
PLUS Loans & Supplemental Loans for Students (SLS) •  PLUS-parents may borrow up to $4,000 per year for dependent student enrolled half time •  PLUS and SLS loans are not need based Applications available from Financial Aid Office at PCCUA.
Federal Stafford Loans (Formerly GSL) • maximum not to exceed $2,625 per year for the first year of undergraduate study or $4,000 for the second two years of under graduate study
• repayment begins 6 months after you graduate or withdraw from school
• interest rate 8-10%
•  based on financial need FAFSA. Applications are available from high school counselors or the Financial Aid Office at PCCUA.
State Programs
Arkansas State Student Assistance Grant •  amount varies depending on student's financial need •  must be an Arkansas resident

•  based on financial need and 2.50 grade point average

FAFSA. Applications are available from high school counselors or the Financial Aid Office at PCCUA.
Governor's Scholars Program •  $2,000 per year •  based on high academic ability and community leadership. Financial need is not a factor. Applications are available from Financial Aid Office at PCCUA or the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.
Congressional Teacher Scholarship •  amount may not exceed cost of attendance minus other aid •  must be pursuing a teaching career in pre-school elementary or secondary education Applications available from the Financial Aid Office at PCCUA or the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.
Math Science Loan Program •  amount may not exceed cost of attendance minus other aid •  must be pursuing a secondary teacher certification in Arkansas in math or science
