Changing Majors

  1. The student must see his current advisor to change his major.

  2. The advisor fills out a Change of Major Form (See Change of Major Form 10.4). The advisor should consult Advisor-Major Assignments (See 10.1)  to determine who the student`s new advisor should be.

  3. Copies of the completed Change of Major Form are sent to the Director of Advisement and Assessment, the Dean of the division into which the student is entering, the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services, and the new advisor.

  4. Advisement Center personnel make the necessary changes in the POISE database and place the Change of Major Form in the students' advising file.
