Assignments On-Line

Western Civ. II on-line requires that the student do considerable reading.  You should begin with reading in the text on the topic, then go to the on-line topic page and there read the links found on the outline. The outline provides the student with that information  I consider to be most important to the student's understanding of the topic. The  text book does not have specific pages for all topics covered.  But each topic page has information and links that will provide understanding of the topic.

THE ASSIGNMENT

1).  After reading the materials for a topic (in the text book and on the topic page) go the the Discussion/ bulletin board on WebCT where questions are posted and contribute to the class discussion of the topic. Be sure to reply to at least one other student's reply to my questions. Please submit your own questions as this is our class discussion of the materials. You are expected to participate in the discussion.  The constant assignment is to read the materials and go to the bulletin board on WebCT Homepage for the class discussion.

2).  Response questions: Response questions require a more detailed response to questions. These responses  will be emailed to me.  These more detailed responses will be a significant part of your semester grade. Beginning the second week of the semester and then on  a regular basis for the remainder of the semester, you will select two questions from among those posted (on another page) regarding the topics you have read about and discussed on the WebCT discussion page.  You will then write a brief  Response question. Your two brief essays will be submitted in the WebCT Assignment link. The essays must arrive by on the due date and due time. (The dates and times due are found on the Response question page).
