Welcome to Online Class. Whether this is your first on-line class or your tenth class, I would like you to do the following actions/exercises/activities. By doing the following you will become familiar with my site and you will have reviewed the materials to be found in this class. Don't be afraid to hit the various buttons/links on the WebCT page or on the subject matter homepage. On the WebCT page: When you enter WebCT, on the page where this class is listed , there is a link Calendar--check here for dates of assignments and exams. When you enter the WebCT homepage for this class, you will find buttons: 1.Welcome---go here and read about the equipment requirements for the class and information about taking notes and so forth. 2. American Federal Government--- This button takes you to the homepage for the subject matter. On this page you will find buttons/links for Syllabus--go there and read the main areas of study, grading scale, number of exams, academic integrity policy, student responsibilities Assignments---here you will find the assignment readings, questions, format of Response questions, grading scale of the question and dates they are due. Announcements--test dates. 3. Mail-- This is the email for WebCT, you may write to me and the rest of the class here use the browse and the names of the class members will appear and check the name of the person you want to write to. 4. Discussion--Here in the Main area we will have discussion of the subject and in the Hello you can visit with friends. 4. Assignments ---Here you will submit your assignments for the class, you will also find the date due and the late date as well. 5. Submitting Assignments-- This link gives instruction for submitting assignments. 6. My Grades--check your grades here. 7. Exams--to take exams. The other links are publisher's aids and magazines you might want to check out. Practice Assignment This is merely to let you see how WebCT work, it is not part of your grade Please do the following: Submit in the Assignments link on WebCT Aug. 31 1. Post to the Discussion board both Main and Hello. 2. Send me email saying hello. 3. Create a Word document or one saved in a Rich Text Format in which you have copied , pasted and answered the following questions. Then submit the document in the Assignment link Practice Assignment. 1. How many tests are there for this class? 2. How many times a week must you post to the discussion board? 3. How many assignments are there? 4. How many points do you need to make an A?
