CRITIQUE
INFORMATION SHEET

You are required
to attend The Aspects of Love.
The performances are Feb. 14-15 at
7:30 p.m. in the LILY PETER AUDITORIUM. You must be on time and stay through the entire production.

You must write a
critique on the play. This critique must be typed and will receive two grades: one
for content and one for mechanics. The paper should be a minimum
of 3 typed pages (double-spaced) and include a cover sheet.
The cover sheet should be centered and include Title
(underlined ), your name, course name,
instructor’s name, and the date.
It is due no later than Friday, February 22 and must
include the following:
An opening
introductory paragraph. Next,
detailed paragraphs giving specific examples of:

ELEMENTS
( Paragraphs 2-6)
Explain how each of
the following elements communicate to you, the audience member, and how
they contribute to the play. Write
a detailed descriptive paragraph for each of the following
categories:

Scenery -
setting ( the time period, locale, mood, etc.)

Costumes -
makeup (time period - character, age - nationality, socioeconomic
level, etc.)

Lighting - mood,
time of day, special effects

Most Effective
Performer/..least effective performer ( one each ); tell me who,
why, etc.

Sound/Music/Dance
(special effects, mood, character development, etc.)
CLOSING (paragraph 7
- summary of paper and closing)
