Fitness Center

Fitness program personalized for each participant. Learn how exercise can improve your flexibility, muscle tone, and posture and how to improve your health and have a more positive outlook on life. Join us in shaping up our bodies and shipping out that weight. Our fitness center is open from 6 am-8 pm for your convenience and to help you find the time to work out in your busy schedule. The class runs from Jan. 3-May 11. Price per semester is $70; Sr’s Get Fit (over 60) $30; Students (12 or more hours) $50. 


Heartsaver CPR/First Aid

Upon completion of this training, you will be certified in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. This is excellent training for persons in childcare, farming, teachers, Girl Scout and Boy Scout leaders, and anyone interested. If your office or business needs to be recertified as a group, give us a call. Cost is $40 per person, and the class will be Tuesday, March 13, from 5-9 pm.


Yoga

Beginner friendly yoga will help with flexibility and relaxation from all of your stress. Classes meet each Monday and Wednesday from 5:30- 6:30 pm. Students can select to attend one day a week at a cost of $25/month or 2 days a week for a cost of $45/month. If you just want to drop in for a yoga class, the cost will be $8 per drop in.


Introduction to Computers 

This course is a basic introduction to computers. Students will learn how to turn a computer on and off, use a mouse, and complete simple tasks. Basic instruction to Microsoft Word, internet navigation and e-mail processing will also be covered. The course will be from 5-7 pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 26, 27 and 28. Cost is $20; Seniors (over 60) $10.


**The community education department offers a variety of workshops and trips throughout the semester. Watch your local newspaper for specific trip information and updates on planned activities. If you have any suggestions for future community education events, please contact us. Some events that are planned are as follows: Living Well with Diabetes, Cook Smart/Eat Smart, Extension Get Fit, Reshape, Arkansas Repertory Theatre, Botanic Garden tours, holiday trips & tours, area festivals & events and day & weekend trips.
