ACT Prep

Classes will be held February 6 & 7. The classes will be grouped in two sessions and can be taken combined or separately. Classes consist of study and test taking-tips along with review of important topics and practice exams. More information will be provided at a later date in the local newspapers as well as in area schools.  Cost for Reading/English or Math/Science is $40.

Fitness Class

Fitness program personalized for each participant. Learn how exercise can improve your flexibility, muscle tone, and posture and how to improve your health and have a more positive outlook on life. Join us in shaping up our bodies and shipping out that weight. Our fitness room is open from 6 am-8 pm for your convenience and to help you find the time to work out in your busy schedule. The class runs from January 9 - May 18. Price per semester is $70; Seniors Get Fit (over 60) $30; Students (12 or more hours) $50. 

Heartsaver CPR/First Aid

Upon completion of this training, you will be certified in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. This is excellent training for persons in childcare centers, farming, teachers, Girl Scout and Boy Scout leaders, and anyone interested. If your office or business needs to be recertified as a group, give us a call. Cost is $40, and the class will be Thursday, March 16, from 5:00-9:00 pm.

Introduction to Computers

This course is a basic introduction to computers. Students will learn how to turn a computer on and off, use a mouse, and complete simple tasks.  Basic instruction to Microsoft Word, internet navigation and e-mail processing will also be covered.  The course will be from 5:00-7:00 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, February 13, 15,  and 20. Cost is $20; Seniors (over 60) $10.

The community education department offers a variety of workshops and trips throughout the semester. Watch your local newspaper for specific trip information and updates on planned activities.  If you have any suggestions for future community education events, please contact us. Some events that are planned are as follows: Warfield Concerts & performances, Arkansas Repertory Theatre, Botanic Garden tours, holiday trips & tours, area festivals & events, and day & weekend trips.
