PCCUA to offer Zumba class in January

If you love dancing, taking a Zumba class at Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas is a great way to get in shape in the New Year.

A style of intense dance moves to music, Zumba will be held from 6:45 - 7:45 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Jan. 17 – April 27 in Dance Room 2. Zumba instructor Cristy Alsup says the choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue, and mambo and also includes squats and lunges. She added that this 60-minute workout offers a good combination of fun dance and body movements.

“If you enjoy dancing, Zumba makes working out a lot of fun,” said Alsup.

Students ages 15 and up may enroll; the cost is $50. Participants may register by calling Heather Treat at (870) 338-6474, ext. 1181, or stopping by the John Easley Administration Building.
