Heavy Equipment Operations and Maintenance CP = Certificate of Proficiency
This program prepares students to enter the workforce in the field of site preparation and construction. Students will learn the operations and maintenance of equipment such as a back hoe, an excavator, a bucket truck, a bulldozer, as well as a forklift. Students will also learn basic blueprint reading and elements of safety and sanitation related to the operations of heavy equipment. 

Students completing a CP in Heavy Equipment Operations will demonstrate the following:

1.     Knowledge of procedures for operating heavy, complex, mechanized equipment in accord with manual, safety regulations, and other instructions.

2.     Knowledge of the operation of heavy equipment, driving, and moving mechanized equipment.

3.     Ability to operate heavy, complex mechanized equipment.

4.     Ability to service and perform minor maintenance on heavy equipment.

5.     Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions and explanations.

6.     Skill in the operation of heavy equipment.
