Mild Steel Welding
CP = Certificate of Proficiency | 15 hours

The PCCUA Welding program prepares students for the world of work.  Students enrolling in this program acquire skills needed and are provided with a complete OSHA approved safety orientation and practice in welding training booths. PCCUA instructors make sure students have a great learning experience and hands-on training in a variety of welding procedures including:

  • Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
  • Gas Metal Arc Welding (TIG/MIG).
  • Pipe Welding

Students completing the Mild Steel Weldingprogram will demonstrate the following skills:

  • Principles of various welding procedures

  • Protocols for shielded metal arc welding

  • Safety protocols and practices in mild steel welding

  • Welding joints and beads on light gauge steels and thick metals

  • Welding V—Butt joints on plate steel and pipe fitting

  • Metal welding in flat and horizontal positions
