C&TC students learn about dangers of driving while intoxicated
This week, our Career & Technical Center students (Helena) had the opportunity to learn about DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) and how the B.A.T Mobile Unit is used throughout the state. The Breath Alcohol Testing Mobile provides advanced training and on-site technical and equipment support to law enforcement officers and agencies conducting sobriety checkpoints. The unit is used as part of an ongoing program to deter and apprehend drunken/drugged drivers and to reduce alcohol and drug-related crashes and fatalities on roadways throughout Arkansas.Students were able to participate in Standardized Field Sobriety Tests as well as learning the importance of not driving while under the influence of any drugs. Students also learned the only safe limit is .0 percent. This experience was educational and fun as the students volunteered to participate.
