Eight area students receive PCCUA scholarships

 

Eight area students have been awarded two-year academic scholarships to Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas-Helena.

Receiving the full-tuition Academic Excellence Scholarship are: Taylor Mitchell and Bailey Pickle, both of Helena; Brent Holt, of West Helena; Haylie Bartlett, of Lexa; Thomas Cole Edwards, of Holly Grove; Rae Ann Dunigan, of Poplar Grove; Randi Harpole, of Moro; and Ethan Smothers of LaGrange.

Dunigan is majoring in biology, while Holt has chosen the field of agriculture. Pickle is studying business management, and Bartlett has selected criminal justice. Edwards, Harpole, Mitchell, and Smothers have chosen engineering, nursing, animal science, and forestry/wildlife management, respectively.

These scholarships were awarded based on American College Test scores and high school grade point averages.
