Holland named PCCUA dean of Business and Information Systems
Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas (PCCUA) announces that Kayla Holland has been named the new dean of Business and Information Systems. She has served as a full-time instructor for the Division of Business since 2013.
“I am thrilled to have been selected as the new dean of the Division of Business and Information Systems,”she stated. “I have worked within this division for the past 13 years as acomputer lab assistant and, then, as a full-time instructor. I have worked with amazing mentors and co-workers throughout those years that have taught me so much about the division and our college.”
Holland replaces Monica Quattlebaum, who has been named Vice Chancellor for Instruction. As dean, Holland will be responsible for providing leadership to communicate and implement divisional goals and objectives, as well as assist with assessment and curriculum development. She will also ensure the integrity of business programs through continued accreditation with the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
Holland joined the College in 2011 working as a computer lab assistant, where she monitored the Division of Business computer labs and taught three computer information systems lab classes. For her dedication to her students and instruction,she was presented the Outstanding Faculty Award in 2016-2017.
Another part of her supervision will be facilitating promotional and recruitment activities at the division level and cooperating with college wide enrollment management initiatives, participating in the long- and short-range planning of the college, serving as a liaison between the community and the College, and serving on the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Self-Study Assurance Team.
Over the years, Holland has been actively involved in numerous College committees, currently serving on the College Assessment Committee, as a member of the Assessment Academy Team, and as chair of the Portfolio Review Committee. Her involvement also includes past service on the Faculty Curriculum Committee, and as Faculty Senate elections officer, Faculty Senate President and Vice President, and Faculty Development Committee chair.
Holland holds an AA. Degree from PCCUA, a B.S. degree from Arkansas State University (ASU), and an M.S.E.degree, also from ASU.
“My passion is working with our students to help them realize their full potential,” she noted. “I always say that graduation is my favorite time of year, to see so many of our students accomplishing their goals and looking towards the future. I look forward to continuing my work within the division to help students and to work with ourcommunity and the college.”
