Landon Correro, of West Helena, has been chosen as the new recipient of the Evelyn Hurst Scholarship at PhillipsCommunity College of the University of Arkansas (PCCUA). Correro, who is majoring in information systems, is enrolled on the Helena campus.
The Evelyn Hurst Scholarship was established in 1996 in memory of Evelyn Hurst. It is given to students who have completed the GED and wish to continue their college education. Recipients must be entering PCCUA for the first time as a full-time (15 hours) student.
The scholarship recipient must maintain a 2.75 cumulative GPA. A full scholarship is equal to full tuition each fall and spring. A partial Hurst scholarship is equal to half tuition each fall and spring.
