Twelve area students have been awarded two-year academic scholarships to Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas-Helena.
Receiving the full-tuition Technical Achievement Scholarship are McKenzie Beliew, of Clarendon; Marsella Mason, of Forrest City; Alyssa Elliott (not pictured), Kaden Jefferson, and Miyah Evans, all of Helena; Tradeena Cooper, of Marianna; Camillia Aguilar, of Marvell; and Bobby Boyd, Clayton St. John (not pictured), Gracie Pryor, Jaycee Worstell, and Landon Correro, all of West Helena.
Worstell and Pryor have selected cosmetology, while Aguilar, Cooper, and Mason are studying nursing. Correro is majoring in information systems, and Evans is studying criminal justice. Jefferson and St. John have decided to participate in the CDL program. Beliew, Boyd, and Elliot are majoring in behavioral health, forklift/ welding, forestry, and MLT, respectively.
These scholarships were awarded based on American College Test scores and high school grade point averages.
