Performing arts summer camp at PCCUA-Helena opens June 3
Calling all young people! Young People’s Workshop in the Arts staff are looking for participants with creative energy for this summer’s camp at Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas (PCCUA) in Helena. Registration is underway for the 2024 program, which runs from June 3-27.
Designed for students entering grades three through 12, Workshop in the Arts challenges creativity and imagination as it focuses on activities related to various techniques used in performing. Space is limited for this summer’s program.
Heading the program will be Paulette Parker, who says the camp will consist of classes in art, hip-hop dance, drama, and music, and it will conclude with a staged musical production and art exhibit on June 27 by participants in the program.
Every summer, this camp leads students to discover their own creative talents in the visual and performing arts,” said Parker. “We are very excited about the program we have lined up for this summer and hope to see lots of returning students along with some new faces.”
The cost to enroll is $100. To register or for more information, call 870-739-0308.
