Deandra Smith Jr., of West Helena, has been awarded the CHS Class of 90 Scholarship at Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas (PCCUA). Smith is currently enrolled in the Welding program on the Helena campus, where he is pursuing training in the college's occupational and technical program.
The CHS Class of 90 Scholarship provides $500 each fall andspring semester to two Central High School graduates attending the Helena campus. Recipients must enroll in 12 to 15 credit hours and maintain a 3.0 GPA to qualify and continue receiving the scholarship. The award is available forup to two semesters, provided the student maintains the required GPA after thefirst term.
