Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas (PCCUA)–Helena welcomed distinguished guests from the University of Arkansas System this week, including UA System President Lieutenant General Jay Silveria, Colonel Nate Todd, and Director of Communications, Nate Hinkel. The visit brought meaningful conversation, shared insights, and even a few laughs—especially during a friendly debate over football.
During their time on campus, leadership engaged with faculty and staff about opportunities to strengthen PCCUA’s impact within the UA System. Topics included expanding transfer pathways to other UA System universities, enhancing childcare support for students, and building on the college’s growing athletics program.
President Silveria emphasized the power of communication and collaboration across campuses. He encouraged faculty and staff to continue building strong networks with peers throughout the system, noting that shared expertise enriches the entire UA community.
He also praised PCCUA for its deep commitment to student success. “You can feel how much this college cares,” he remarked, acknowledging the campus’s strong culture of support and dedication to meeting students’ needs.
PCCUA looks forward to continued partnership with UA System leadership as the college advances its mission of providing accessible, high-quality education.
