Program Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the Technical Certificate inBehavioral Health Technology, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills appropriate for behavioral health and human service settings, including professional interaction with clients, families, and colleagues.
AAS alignment: Interpersonal communication in classroom and clinical settings - Apply foundational behavioral health concepts related to human behavior, mental health conditions, and community wellness in supervised or simulated practice environments.
AAS alignment: Human behavior awareness; abnormal psychology; community-based health awareness - Identify and respond appropriately to common behavioral health concerns, including substance use disorders, domestic violence, and chronic or infectious health conditions, using established guidelines and referral protocols.
AAS alignment: Substance abuse indicators and treatment; domestic violence; chronic and infectious disease - Implement basic safety, security, and emergency procedures consistent with behavioral health workplace standards and policies.
AAS alignment: Safety, security, and emergency procedures - Practice ethical and legal responsibilities relevant to behavioral health support roles, including confidentiality, professional boundaries, and mandated reporting requirements.
