Program Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the Certificate of Proficiency in Law Enforcement, students will be able to:
- Identify the structure and functions of the criminal justice system, including the roles of law enforcement, courts, and corrections at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Describe fundamental legal principles relevant to law enforcement practice, including constitutional rights, due process, and ethical responsibilities.
- Demonstrate professional communication skills appropriate for law enforcement and public safety environments, including written, oral, and interpersonal communication.
- Recognize ethical standards and professional conduct expectations applicable to law enforcement and public safety support roles.
- Apply basic principles of safety awareness and situational response consistent with established public safety guidelines and workplace policies.
