Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas (PCCUA) is proud to recognize Construction/Manufacturing Instructor Jacob Walker for completing an advanced training course with Amatrol, Inc. in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Amatrol is a leading developer of interactive technical learning systems used to train professionals in manufacturing, HVAC, and other high-demand industries.
From June 9–13, 2025, Walker participated in an intensive, hands-on course focused on Tabletop Mechatronics and Smart Factory systems. During the training, he gained a deeper understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), a key component in automation and industrial systems. “Before this training, I had no real understanding of PLCs,” Walker shared. “But through Amatrol’s learning resources and the opportunity to work alongside a professional engineer who helped develop this technology, I’ve built a solid foundation and feel more equipped to help students understand how this applies in real-world settings.”
This experience reinforces PCCUA’s commitment to providing students with industry-aligned instruction that prepares them for today’s evolving workforce. By learning from the best in the field, instructors like Walker continue to bring relevant, high-tech training into the classroom.
