Institutional Effectiveness

CCSSE, CCFSSE, and SENSE Surveys

PCCUA provides students with the opportunity to participate in student engagement surveys. The College uses survey products from the Center for Community College Student Engagement at the University of Texas at Austin www.ccsse.org.

The student surveys include the Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE) and the Survey of Entering Student Engagement (SENSE). These surveys are administered every other year.

CCSSE surveys are administered to students who have been in college for more than one semester and to gather information about their overall college experience. This survey is administered during the spring semester.

SENSE surveys are administered to students who are beginning their academic education. This survey is administered at the beginning of the fall semester.

Faculty also is given an opportunity to participate in the Community College Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (CCFSSE) survey which provides the faculty perspectives on student experiences as well as share information about their teaching practices. The CCFSSE survey is administered during the spring semester in conjunction with the CCSSE survey.

Data newsletters are used to share outcomes from the CCSSE, CCFSSE and SENSE surveys. These newsletters are designed to inform faculty, staff, and students about the perceptions of student engagement at PCCUA.
